Advisory retainer


The right positioning is a blueprint for accelerating growth, but it won’t work if you don’t follow it. This option is for early stage open source companies with an open source project that already has users but that is struggling with its identity and wants to continually get feedback and incorporate that feedback into the positioning and messaging.

One person in the company — usually the CEO or COO — will have unlimited access to me by email or video conference during the work week. I’ll respond within 24 hours during the workweek. In addition, we’ll set up a regular one-hour call every two weeks discuss next steps and incorporate feedback from the previous two weeks. We can review things like:

  • Product roadmaps

  • Marketing and sales campaigns

  • New web copy

  • New partnerships or joint marketing efforts

The investment for the advisory retainer is $20,000 per quarter.
